Tamarind Translations started in Stockholm in 1989, and has become a trusted and reputable translation agency in Sweden. On 1 December 2008, Tamarind Translations opened its doors to business in Nairobi. It is no coincidence that I chose Nairobi as the site of my first foreign branch. My ten years in Kenya, in the 60’s and 70’s, have left me with strong feelings for this wonderful country, which has given me so much. Now I have a chance to establish something that I hope will be of benefit to Kenya.

Tamarind Translations is the first professional company in Kenya that is entirely focussed on translation and interpreting services. Twenty years of experience in Sweden has given us expert knowledge of the market and the language industry, which we are now happy to offer the Kenyan market. The market for language service providers in Kenya is interesting. With the advent of globalisation and the expansion of the East African Community, many companies in Kenya are geared towards investing in other non-English speaking states. Therefore, there is need to communicate effectively with their partners in other countries. The same need applies to the foreign companies that are coming into Kenya at a fast rate.
